Study Tips & Exam Strategy
Limits and derivatives are the backbone of everything. Spend the first week solidifying these before moving to integration.
AP graders reward clear justification. Write complete sentences, label your work, and always state theorems you're applying (e.g., MVT, FTC).
Know your graphing calculator for finding zeros, intersections, numerical derivatives (nDeriv), and definite integrals — these appear directly in Part B.
College Board releases free practice FRQs going back decades. Doing 3–4 full FRQ sets under timed conditions is the single best exam prep.
You have roughly 2 min per question. Mark and skip anything taking more than 90 seconds — come back at the end. Never leave blanks (no penalty).
Series (Taylor, Maclaurin, convergence tests) accounts for ~17–18% of the BC exam. Many students underestimate this unit — start it early.
